DESCRIPTION:Setan kansainvälisten asioiden toimikunta järjestää osallistavan keskustelutilaisuuden LGBTIQ-ihmisoikeuspuolustajien unelmista ja todellisuuksista eri puolilta maailmaa. \nTavoitteenamme on laajentaa keskustelua ja ymmärrystä siitä\, mitä LGBTIQ-aktivismi maailmalla on. Mitä se tarkoittaa arjessa\, miltä se näyttää ja kuulostaa\, ja mitä me Suomessa voimme tehdä tukeaksemme paremmin ihmisoikeuksia puolustavia LGBTIQ-aktivisteja maailmalla? \nSuomi tukee eri tavoin ihmisoikeuspuolustajia ja aktivisteja\, mutta onko tämänhetkinen apu riittävää? Nostamme tapahtumassa keskiöön niitä ääniä\, jotka usein ihmisoikeuskeskustelusta puuttuvat\, tavoitteenamme myös murtaa valkoisuutta aktivismin kasvoina. Tapahtuman pääpuhujina toimivat videon välityksellä tarinansa kertovat aktivistit maailman eri puolilta. The program prioritizes working with Russian transgender and gender-nonbinary communities and supports individuals in finding the connection to their bodies\, developing their voice\, practicing body positivity and expressing oneselves creatively. What are the everyday realities of LGBTIQ+ activism? How does it look like in different contexts? What can we do in Finland to support LGBTIQ+ human rights defenders elsewhere in the world? \nBoth the Finnish state and various civil society organizations support human rights defenders and activists in various ways\, but does the current support respond sufficiently to different local contexts? \nFaces of LGBTIQ+ activism aims to make those voices heard that are often lacking from the current human rights discourse. We will also aim to disrupt whiteness as the face of activism. \nMain speakers of the event are the activists from different global contexts telling their stories on video and live in the event.
